Check out this great write-up about the new Why Does Gray Matter CD on the excellent web site KidsHealth.org. The site hits the sweet spot of being fun AND educational.

GRAY IS THE NEW GOLD: I'm very excited to share the news that WHY DOES GRAY MATTER? has been awarded the PARENT'S CHOICE GOLD AWARD. In the kid's music world, that's as big as it gets. Thanks to everyone for your support! It will hang on my wall right next to the GOLD AWARD for my CD Dream Big!

Vote early and often for the song "DREAM BIG" on Radio Disney's request page. Don't forget to dedicate the song to someone in your community who helps kids dream big dreams.

The Gray Lady shouts out for Gray Matter: "Mr. Day wants his young listeners to have their thinking caps on."

Another shout for Why Does Gray Matter. Scholastic says it "Gets kids thinking with fun wordplay." Now that's a good combination!

#1 ON XM KiDS RADIO CHARTS!
Unbelievable! "I like Yaks" is first #1! Thanks to Billy Jonas for taking my quirky idea and making it work. Yaks stayed on the XMCharts an amazing 21 weeks. Wow! Keep those requests to the XMKiDs  coming.

DEBUT OF ROGER DAY YOUTUBE CHANNEL
Many thanks to friend and fellow Kid Music artist Eric Herman and his wife Roseann for setting up the new Roger Day YouTube Channel. The first two videos posted are from my live concert DVD, "Mosquito Burrito" and "Parachute Girl". Click here to check it out: youtube.com/RogerDayMusic. Hopefully we'll post more in the future. And if you've got your own homemade video of one of my songs and would like for me to post it, let me know.

IT'S OFFICIAL: DREAM BIG! IS "FAMILY APPROVED"

Many thanks to the fine folks at the Dove Foundation -- www.dove.org -- for giving Dream Big! their highest "Family Approved" Rating. Check them out when you get a chance. In the meantime, click the "more big news" button to find out what else is happening in my world.

DREAM BIG! IN WASHINGTON POST

The Washington Post named "I Like Yaks" as one of their "good tracks to add to your MP3" on their Kid Post. Wow!

COOKIE MAGAZINE GIVES DREAM BIG! SWEET REVIEW
Thanks to Christopher Healy for this nice blurb in Cookie Magazine in October:  "If your kids don't already know Day from his appearances on XM Kids radio, they'll quickly become fans of his high-energy tunes.

MOSQUITO BURRITO BROTHERS BUZZ THE RUMPUS ROOM
More XM KiDS news. This fall, my band -- The Flying Mosquito Burrito Brothers -- and I rented a Ford Econoline and made a 1300 mile roundrip from Nashville to the XM Radio Studios in  Washington D.C. this fall to play a live RUMPUS ROOM show. What a blast! Just to think we were playing in the same recording studio that Paul McCartney played in just a few weeks earlier. Awewsome! Check out the photo gallery to see us in action.

#1 ON THE THE FAGUE FAMILY IPOD TOO
If Disney and XM Radio weren't enough, check out this report from the Fague family in Hoover, Alabama where Alexander, Anna Hope and Sarah Grace attend Deer Valley Elementary School. "When you came to Deer Valley I had mentioned to you that out of 2,500 songs on our IPOD you held the top spot.  When I got your email I had to check to see if that was still true.  Well congratulations This may not be billboard but you are holding on strong to the #1, #6, #23 & #24 spots.  However, I must admit that Mom is so tire of haveing to play kids music that she's asked for her own IPOD."

RHINO IS THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE IN SONGWRITING CONTEST
Thanks to all of you who voted -- then voted again -- for my song “It’s a No-No to Kiss a Rhino” during the recent International Songwriting Competition. I'm proud to report that Rhino received more votes than any other children's song in the People's Choice category. Wow! In addition it was given a respectable Honorable Mention by the official judges. For a complete list of ISC 2006 Winners, please go to: http://www.songwritingcompetition.com/winners.htm

KINDERMOURN HOPE FLOATS RACE RAISES $130,00
Congratulations to all the volunteers at Kindermourn in Charlotte, NC. They recently raised $130,000 during their Hope Floats Race. I hope a couple of those dollars came from CDs I donated and one of you generously bought. To find out more about the important work they're doing for families mourning the loss of a child, please visit their website.

ROCK LEGENDS THE CRICKETS FEATURED ON DREAM BIG!
Yep. Those guys. Used to play with a guy named Buddy Holly. Co-wrote "Peggy Sue" and "That'll Be the Day", not to mention "I Fought the Law and the Law Won". If that's not enough for you, how about The Mary Tyler Moore Show theme song? What an honor to have them play with me. They added the perfect touch for the Bo Diddley-beat of my song "Roly Poly". If you don't know about them, here's where to find out. TheCrickets.com
